Futuramaboth the best and worst thing you could say about the new show was that it was still Futurama. It hadn’t really evolved, but it also didn’t really need to, and anyone who just wanted more Futurama was going to come away from the new episodes exactly as satisfied as they would’ve hoped to be. A second revival season (season 12) is set to air in 2024, meaning the show will still live on for quite a while thanks to this two-season pick-up.
For those who have been frozen in a tube for the last 23 years, Futruama is about a pizza delivery boy named Fry who got cryogenically frozen in 1999 and then woke up 1,000 years later to a world that his humorously different—and humorously not-so-different!—from the one he left. He’s friends with a robot and in love with a cyclops and his doctor is a horrible, grotesque, unlovable lobster monster. Also, since time sort of progresses normally on the show and the new Hulu seasons took place in 3023, he has maybe lived in the future for longer than he ever lived in the past? That’s a weird “wanna feel old” potentially true factoid, huh?
